北大嶼山醫院香港感染控制中心
2020/2021
In order to cope with the new coronavirus, the Hong Kong government used the “modular integrated construction” method (MiC) to build the Hong Kong Infection Control Center (HKICC) of North Lantau Hospital in the AsiaWorld-Expo. The facilities include 136 negative pressure wards and 816 beds. The project took only about 4 months to complete, faster than hospitals built using traditional construction methods.
The project includes six ward buildings, a medical building, a central mechanical and electrical equipment building and other support facilities. The project is designed and constructed in strict accordance with Hong Kong’s permanent building standards. Except for the absence of an operating room in compliance with the requirements of the Hospital Authority, the other configurations are roughly the same as those of ordinary hospitals.
